Blue Breeze Daisies

Blue Breeze Daisies is the daily newbie in Flower Mound Studio - try saying that three times fast, at midnight, after painting until midnight for six nights in a row! Not that I'm complaining, I love my job. And it seems the muses really do prance about at their colorful best at midnight, now why is that I wonder? I often wonder if my normal friends wonder what it is that motivates an artist to quit her "real job" to paint and dabble all day. What on earth does a "real" artist do with all those oodles and oodles of free time? I've spent so many hours in the past few weeks working on taxes, contracts, conference calls on web sites, working with printers and scheduling classes, not to mention packing up boxes and DVDs to ship hither and yon. I honestly feel like I'm cheating on my chores when I paint now! What's an artist to do! Carving out my studio time remains a sacred thing, though, despite the hubbub of a great new job, and the excitement -and scariness! - that is a part of having my own business. Now, if only JC Penney would call and consign all of my florals for their sheets and curtains, then I could retire and loll about on the beach somewhere drinking fruity things out of coconuts. On second thought, that would be yet another conference call, wouldn't it...
The daisy models are feeling quite perky this evening!
