Out of the Blue Delphiniums and Iris

Oil on Deep Gallery Wrap Canvas
Out of the Blue Delphiniums and Iris is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio, and the last hurrah of the batch of fresh Japanese iris and blue delphiniums. The little petals were making plopping noises the whole time I was painting them under the studio light, as they fell to the tabletop. They posed bravely and stood steadfastly under duress, and deserve to be remembered for all they gave in the name of color! We salute you little flowers. Oh my, it must be getting late, where did that come from?
It's likely because I am still so absolutely delighted we had a very special visitor to Flower Mound Studio today, my friend Vicki came to see us. Vicki was one of my classmates in September in Southern France, and was in town visiting her great-grandson so we got to catch up on all the news and have lunch at the closest thing to France there is in Flower Mound - La Madeleine restaurant! As you can see from the photos below, Hannah immediately gave Vicki her utmost seal of approval by sitting on Vicki's foot and refusing to move. I am pretty sure that if Hannah had her way, Vicki would never leave. Thanks for coming to visit us Vicki, big hugs and kisses and safe travels home!
Out of the Blue - Fini!
Hannah claims Vicki's

Saying cheese with my buddy!
