True story. The hubby and I were browsing the gourmet cheese aisle at the new Whole Foods near Flower Mound, Texas today. A woman walked by on her cell phone. She had peonies in her basket. I turned to my husband and said in a very, very calm voice: "Honey. They have peonies." He was browsing the olive bar and didn't really hear me. I said in a more serious tone. "HONEY. THEY HAVE PEONIES. I'VE GOT TO GO THE FLOWER SECTION. NOW."  I was very proud about what happened next.

With incredible restraint, I walked as quickly as I could toward the flower section of the store. I did not knock over any elderly shoppers or plough down a single mini-socialite on their IPhone. I counted the steps, thinking, If I can get there in less than 25 steps, maybe there will be ONE BUNCH of peonies left for me. When I arrived, there was a whole bucket of fresh peonies. Most were in tight little balls, ready to burst forth in a day or two. Not only this, they were ON SALE. I'm sure my flower friends can properly appreciate this miraculous occurrence. I loaded up on four or 12 bundles of these precious fresh flowers. And that, my friends, is how truly over the top my flower obsession is. Up to this point, you probably thought I was just joking about needing medication for this condition...
