New Years Eve Party Dress and Painting Under Adverse Conditions by Nancy Medina

New Year's Eve Party Dress

New Year's Eve Party Dress is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio. I may not be able to sew but I can paint what I would like to wear New Year's Eve! And I must say, for the record, this painting was produced under duress! The new "Nest Smoke and Heat" detectors, top of the line, uber cool looking, described as the "yuppy version" of new age fire detector technology, spent the entire day going off and on, off and on here at the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs. With the pleasant female voice announcing calmly, Emergency. Smoke Detected in the hallway throughout the house all day. Shortly thereafter announcing Smoke Has Cleared. And then immediately announcing Emergency. Smoke Detected. Then Smoke Has Cleared. Even as I clung to the chandelier by my fingernails, I did feel somewhat sorry for the disembodied voice of the announcer, wondering if she needed a drink of water after all those smoke announcements. Surely she was getting just as tired of this as the pugs and I? The hubby came home at lunch and indicated we have a defective unit. It shall be shipped back post haste. To wherever it is that Nest Top of the Line Smoke and Heat Detectors are created. The good news? I did not need a cup of coffee mid-day, in order to avoid the afternoon nap....
