SOLD ~ Dreams to Come Pink Peonies and a Day in the Life by Floral Artist Nancy Medina

Dreams to Come Peonies
by Nancy Medina
Oil on Archival Panel

My husband comes home from work, now that I am no longer a slave to corporate America, and he says: "What did you do today, nuthin?" And he grins. Now that I am working solely as an artist, I never stop. Boxes of paints and paintings arrived from my Kansas City workshop a few days ago, and more boxes are due to arrive from my St. Louis workshop soon. I noticed today I have three full sets of paints at all times for rotating workshops. I've got two plane tickets waiting for upcoming flights to teach out of state, hotel reservations for locations through November, and a list of sold paintings and commissions that will be shipped out in the past few weeks. Today we spent a few hours just organizing my shipping boxes by size, and I registered three more students for my San Diego, California workshop and one for my Texas workshop in August. The life of an artist is not always spent in front of the easel. This, my friends, is a dream come true. I wouldn't trade it for all the tea in China! Painting is the fun part, but all the little pieces that make up the whole picture aren't so bad either. Tomorrow's priority - flower shopping!
