Blue Summer Hydrangeas
by Nancy Medina

A very rare treat to find fresh blue hydrangeas in the market today! I received another rare gift recently, a book of poetry from one of my collectors and someone I've grown quite fond of over the years. She has granted me permission to share some of her writings with you, and this poem is one of my favorites from her book, Something Old, Something New, Poems by Margo Koller.
The neighbor across the streetKeeps her hedge clippedShe hires someoneTo cut it.Sitting with my cup of tea,Looking out the window I seeThe hedge surreptitiouslySends out runnersReaching with desperateNewly leafed tendrilsTo the sky.
