Carpe Diem Coral Rose and Living the Dream in Flower Mound Studio by Texas Artist Nancy Medina

Carpe Diem Coral Rose is the newest small work in the studio, celebrating the countdown to the end of my work in Corporate America! If you subscribe to my newsletter, you have already heard my news. I have given my notice as the director of a magazine and will be devoting all my efforts and time toward my art, and also spending time with my Mom who is in hospice now. Each morning I wake up and feel light as air, like I could float up to the ceiling with this aura of freedom and joy. My sister Kim reminded me of a poem that seemed just right, I wish I could remember who wrote this, do you know?

I wish that my room had a floor
I don't care so much for a door
but this floating around
without touching the ground
is getting to be such a bore!

The crew celebrates....with a nap!!!

I had never heard it before, but I love nonsense rhymes so I looked it up and voila "I Wish That My Room Had A Floor, Gelett Burgess (1866-1951)"

Good luck with your new venture. I'm no where near as talented as you, nor do I sell as much work, nor did I have a 6 figure income, but I've learned to be very frugal. I live on the income from my Art. It's a wonderful life except when you lose your camera as I did a couple of days ago and you wish you could afford a new one. :(

Look at those gorgeous Pug babies!! I love seeing them all together and to know how well they accepted Ms. Hannah. I walk on air with you, my friend!

Nancy, Congratulations on your decision to paint full time! Your paintings are beautiful and the fact that you feel so good about your decision tells you it was right!
