Sunset Blaze Field of Wildflowers

Oil on Archival Panel
Sunset Blaze is the newest wildflower painting in Flower Mound Studio, and I'm imagining standing barefoot in that field, watching the light move behind the clouds. I've been painting wildflowers and cottages for a few weeks now, in between commissions. The paint responds very differently on an archival panel compared with how it moves on the surface of a prepped cotton canvas. It's a good exercise to work with different materials side by side and compare the results. I never fail to discover something surprising. Take a peek at recent posts here on my art blog to see all my latest wildflower and cottage paintings.

This is just so beautiful, Nancy. I'm not a barefoot fan (not since I was in high school) but I can imagine right along with you. I love what you've been posting of late so very much. Great rooster below too!
Wow Nancy, you're off with a bang! This is awesome. What a great start to the New Year. Keep it up!
Love the Sunset and colours. It is a little cold here and nice to be reminded that the warm sun will be back sooner than we think!
