Rain Blossom Poppies by Nancy Medina
30X24
Oil on Deep Gallery Wrap Canvas
Rain Blossom Poppies is a new work in the studio, as the rain sprinkles down outside, and the studio is warmed by coffee cake, espresso, and snoring pugs. I used a loose, wet approach incorporating some watercolor techniques to create a wash of background color before laying in the bright opaque reds and darkest greens in this painting. It's a bit challenging to capture the scope of a large painting on a computer screen, so I'm sharing a photo on the easel for you. And for those who are wondering, yes, there are a few little studio helpers strategically positioned in front of the easel, always ready to lend a paw (or beg for coffee cake...).

I love the title of this piece and it is quite beautiful. Your studio sounds yummy with coffee cake and espresso and I suspect those 4 little Pug helpers have mommy wrapped around their paws.
Thank you Sherry, you know me too well!!!!
