Poppy Ocean by Nancy Medina
Oil on Panel
Poppy Ocean is drying on the easel in Flower Mound Studio, as I've packed up paints and folded paper towels, enough to last me for the three day workshop coming up in the Texas Hill Country. We had a nice downpour today and they're promising cold weather is on its way to Texas! More purple irises bloomed in my garden today, and my red geraniums are back in full glory, daring the chilly weather to arrive. I used to long for the holidays to come each year, and the seasons to change, but now I wish for things to remain exactly the same. For as long as they do, my mom is here with me, and I can call her or drive to see her at any time. I can hear her laugh, there has never been a conversation that did not include her laughter. These are the years I hope will never pass.
