Breezy Poppy Solo and Purple Irises in the Garden by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Breezy Solo Poppy by Nancy Medina
Oil on Museum Quality Linen Board

This morning I woke up to find more purple irises blooming in the garden, the special double bloomers I purchased last season from Argyle Acres Iris Gardens, and my favorite color, purple! There was a bit of celebration going on, as my Facebook Fan Page reached the 1000 fan mark yesterday. I'll be giving away a painting to one of my Facebook fans to celebrate this month, so sign up for my art newsletter for the announcement to come!

As soon as the confetti settled, I was ordered to the back yard to throw Green Ugly Toy (the toy du jour) for studio director AnnieBee. After all her hard work, she collapsed in her new nest bed in front of the fireplace and took a very long nap. This helped her build up all her energy to watch a wonderful tribute video to rescue, released today during our annual PugOWeen event in Grapevine, Texas. With over 750 pugs and peeps in costume, this was the biggest animal rescue fundraiser in North Texas. Here's a video from the talented Mark Nardeccia of Shagly Photography, who has done more than his share of good works for these precious rescue pugs.

Gorgeous poppy, beautiful iris, and fabulous tribute to Pug Rescue. I love when people love their fur babies.
