Ranunculus and Roses by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Ranunculus and Roses
by Nancy Medina
Oil on Linen Board

Ranunculus and Roses is the first painting I've finished at my mom's house in years. Tomorrow we head back to the hospital for more tests. There is never a dull moment at my mother's house, from the moment you pull up to the farm house to be greeted by horses who beg for snacks like pugs, to the immediate perturbed greetings of skinny cousin Abby the Schnauzer who is never happy to see chunky cousin AnnieBee the pug, to the rundown of which shows mom has taped and saved and should be seen immediately (and sometimes the final scene first, and then the from the beginning next). Tonight we'll have a marathon evening of true crime channel programs, and maybe second dinner around midnight. If there were flamenco dancers, it would be like living in Spain or something....

A beautiful piece, Nancy! Love that heavy ivory colored pitcher. Could have been used a couple of hundred years ago...that is the sense of it for me. I do hope just having you and Annie around help lift your mom's spirits and that she is feeling better and better with each passing day.
