Camelia Solo and Coronado Flower Show Roses by Texas Artist Nancy Medina

Camelia Solo by Nancy Medina
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

This little Camelia blossomed after an evening of working on a 48 inch square canvas hydrangea commission. I received some photos in the mail from a dear friend whose camelias are in full bloom right now, and have been itching to paint camelias ever since the images arrived. Tonight I am packing up paints, an easel, and a canvas to ship off to California for my solo show on Coronado Island April 21. I hope you'll stop by if you're in the neighborhood! I'll be painting in the garden at the gallery from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm that day. Here are a few of my favorite roses from last year's trip - the folks who live here take their flower growing very seriously!

This one was wearing taffeta....

The home that won the top award last year boasted this beauty.

Picket fences and yellow roses - sigh inducing!

I wish we could see you when you go to California- but we live to far away.

I love when you share these photos, Nancy. I also love window boxes with flowers!

You've captured a delicacy in the camellia. It is beautiful!

Why can't I go too??? I can tell it has to be of your favorite places to visit. Maybe you even dream of living there one day? I hope it's a wonderful show! All the best Nancy!
