Lily Love Stargazers is a new painting in the studio. I spent a bit of time at the Dallas Arboretum a few days ago, and even though the wind was chilly coming off of White Rock Lake, the flowers were in bloom! Here are a few photos below. You may want to put on a hat and a nice warm scarf for this stroll. The really good photographers were out in force with their zoom lenses and fancy umbrellas, before the park filled up, and while the light was perfect. I'm just an amateur, but I've found that by shooting about 600 photos, I can usually take home three or four good ones.

I arrived early, so the light was coming from
the east, throwing nice shadows on the paths.

There were early blooming tulips and lots
of pansies in full bloom, cold weather blossoms.

The statues around the gardens
are beautiful, and this one is
near the lake.

Ragdoll tulips! I do love the orange...

Hi Nancy
The Star Gazer painting is so beautiful. We love the colors!
Its hard to believe all those flowers were blooming at the Aboretum, because it is still winter here,

Those oranges and pinks together are just exquisite, Nancy! And I mean in both the painting and the photographs.

Stargazer Lily is gorgeous! And those darks just let the pinks and reds shine:) Always love seeing your paintings and having a tour of the Arboretum thrown in is a bonus. Love the gorgeous flower beds.

Thank you Tweedley, those were brave flowers, out in the cold! xo

Crimson I love orange and pink together - I wore it to school one day. I still remember that - I was such a geek! :>

Thank you Kathy - it was chilly, but I"m glad I went, the arboretum was almost empty and so beautiful....

Thank you Ruth! Warm hugs to you and the babies!
