Summer Blossoms Container Garden is my newest four-foot container garden and is on display at The Good Art Company Gallery. These large gardens tend to develop as they are painted, with one flower pointing the way to the next bunch that will be painted. I usually try to start with two or three main ideas for pots and flower combinations, but sometimes a certain color changes that careful planning completely, calling for a different flower completely to reside next door. I'll have all my work materials ready to paint red geraniums, and suddenly I become convinced that blue hydrangeas have to go in that big pot on the left.

There is no conscious rhyme or reason that goes into the planning, my subconscious seems to run the show. Here is a detail from the garden, and I hope you'll stop by and visit my garden the next time you are in the Texas Hill Country at The Good Art Company Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Thank you so much for the kind words for my mom, she has been moved out of the ICU, and her doctor said she may come home tomorrow!

So glad your mom is out of ICU, Nancy. I'm sure she can't wait to go home herself. Love the potted beauties, as always!
