Black Grapes and Purple Lilacs is an old favorite getting a moment in the blog spotlight, after a fun day in the studio teaching a workshop. J'Lynn, my student, did a brilliant job on her hydrangeas today, and was extremely patient with the little troop of helpers that never left her side. I think J'Lynn did such a great job, especially considering she has never painted in oils before! The pugs were so happy to have visitors, I am sure they thought the entire day had been planned for their enjoyment.

There is nothing better than spending a day in the studio with a friend and having happy puggies snoring contentedly in the evening. I hope you had a nice Friday, and to think - there are two more whole days to the weekend ahead! Have a great one!

J'Lynn did a great job! She has to be so happy and proud.
Lucky lady to have you and your assistants helping her.
I, on the other hand, was wrestling with sunflowers tonight. Sunflowers 1 - Deb 0. But it was a learning experience.

How fun it must have been for both of you! Good friends and puggies,

And your Black Grapes and Lilacs,,, our dear Aunt Nancy,,,
there are no words to describe their beauty.

Nancy, this is one of the loveliest paintings I've seen. The colours are just the way I like them, and those grapes look like one could pick them off the canvas. What a gift you have. It's also very obvious from J'Lynn's lovely work, and beaming smile that you can also impart your knowledge and enthusiasm for what you do. Go the pugs!!
