Neapolitan Poppies is one of a pair of new large poppies drying in Flower Mound Studio this week. I am enjoying this fresh new approach to a favorite old subject, and will be producing more like this in the near future. I've used some of my watercolor lessons to push bright flowers onto a pale background, letting the color take center stage. I hope you enjoy this new poppy journey with me - stay tuned for more in the coming weeks. I am off to an art show this evening in Bedford, Texas. I may have some good news to report tomorrow, so stay tuned. And if you are wondering where the four footed assistants are, and why there are no curly tails or smooshy noses in these photos, rest assured the first 15 shots had plenty of nosy pugs in them, cropped out by yours truly.
