Petaluma Poppies is drying on the easel in Flower Mound Studio. I was so exhausted when I got home from the hospital today I didn't think I'd have the energy to paint, but the studio has become a respite and a comfort in all times. My mother is doing a little better today, but is still a bit weak. We are so hopeful she'll regain her strength and be able to come home soon. I want more than anything to see my mother standing in her kitchen stirring sugar into a glass of iced tea and laughing again, in a house dress with her favorite news program on the TV.
I have not done justice in sharing the photos I promised you from my solo show on Coronado Island, California, so here are a few of my favorites. I will have more for you over the next few weeks. Thank you for the kind words and thoughts for my mom, and my heart goes out to so many of you who don't have your moms any more. I cannot imagine how the world will work properly without my mom to keep my feet anchored and my heart laughing.

how the red bristles contrasted with the blue door!
My husband said he had a tree like this in his yard
growing up and it always made a big mess that was
his job to clean up.

stand of the Coronado Flower Lady. You should
have seen me hopping up and down in the car
when I saw this great flower stand on Orange Ave.
I could hardly wait to get tons of photos!!!
