Poppy Skies

Poppy Skies by Nancy Medina

Poppy Skies was a nice change from the large paintings that have been taking up space in my tiny studio lately. I found some good color combinations for this work that will translate to something larger later. Working in a small space isn't bad as long as I keep everything organized. Here is one way I keep my paint organized in the photo below. These shoe storage bag thingies are perfect for my paint tubes, although I do need one more, and I have nowhere to hang it...

I love these poppies. It reminds me of those growing along the coast in Italy. You're very talented, Nancy.

You amaze me in your ability to paint a large floral scape on a compact canvas. (bowing) Very cool storage idea! You're like the Martha Stewart for artists!

What a happy painting.

Love the freedom and breezy feel to those loose and seemingly floating poppy petals. What a sense of abandon this one brings. I love it!

Such a joyful painting, Nancy. Yup, what a strange group of people we artists are but those squeezed tubes all organised give us great joy to observe!

Who would have thought to use red in the sky, and make it look so good?! Only 6x8? It looks bigger.

Cool hanger thingy, but being the artist you are, you need a proper paint holder. And a bigger studio!
