Sarah's Carnations on a Wintry Day

Sarah's Carnations is a new small work finished today, based on my earlier large work, Citrus Tableau. Sarah is one of my dear friends who also happens to be a pug mom. She and her family live in Indiana, an area that is just as frigid, white, wintry and cold as Dallas today! Flower Mound was an ice rink this morning, so area schools shut down, and when area schools shut down, my office closes. *insert sound of trumpets*

The fatties and I spent a wonderful day in the studio, with occasional visits to the kitchen to fill our plates with yummy things to eat. We even had double supper, because all wise puggies know that in super chilly weather, one must eat extra calories to stay warm. Hubby had to drive in to work today, despite the ice covered roadways, because he works in security and is considered essential personnel. The only time I am considered essential personnel is during puggy mealtime, since I am the only one who can reach the bowls. I'm not complaining, though - It's good to be needed.

Yay! The puggles had mom home yesterday! We both got to stay home yesterday too. Nice!! That doesn't happen often. This is a beautiful commission and I so love that plate.
