My Daily Painters Gallery

Painted Blossoms is a new painting in the studio, as I rushed to paint my red sunflowers before they faded. I deliberately broke some art rules with this painting by celebrating direct complements, and placing the three primaries, red, yellow and blue together. I just couldn't help myself. I love bright primary colors! All day today was Sunday. The weekend is not over yet, so I'm going to enjoy my studio and my pugs for a few more hours before it is time to prepare for work again. I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, even if there is just a little bit of it left.

I also want to dedicate this post to a gentle soul who has gone gently to heaven, a little pug named Emmitt I have known for as long as I have had pugs. Emmitt's mom and dad, Melissa and Fred, live in Colorado and Melissa is the owner and founder of the delightful pug creations, www.pugnotes.com. Emmitt was her inspiration and her heart, her best helper and the sweetest little fellow in the studio. His joyful morning song will be missed.

The inspiration for Painted Blossoms

I'm so sorry to hear of Melissa and Fred's loss of Emmit. My heart goes out to them both. Your painting is a beautiful and light homage to that little boy Pug.
