I found the green flowered pot featured in Sunday Dreaming Hydrangeas on a shopping trip with girlfriends one day at lunchtime. I suppose some girls remember vividly making eye contact with exceptionally cute guys when they are out and about, for me, my heart goes pitty pat when I see that most paintable and delectable flower pot! After I ran to the register with my treasure, and it was wrapped carefully for the trip home, I knew the pot and I would have many happy moments together in the studio. Sunday Dreaming was the first time it was painted, all aglow and dewey fresh soon after we had met.

A few of you have asked about my big news - on Monday evening, I attended the reception for the Trinity Arts Guild annual open show, and learned that I had won first place for the still life division for my oil painting, Wish Carnations. I was excited and so honored to receive the blue ribbon. The juror who chose the winning selections described my painting as "old school oil." I came very close to not entering Wish, thinking my two other entries were much stronger. I'm really glad I did!

Fun to see your video Nancy...I really enjoy seeing how other artists paint! I may have to study it again to learn to paint roses. :)

I'm so impressed, talk about "multi task"! The rose is beautiful and you did such a great job on painting with one hand and filming with the other. Fun to see your palette and your canvas as well! You really need to put those pugs to work and at least have them hold the camera,,,

Nancy, your new Hydrangea painting is beautiful and soft...love it. I love the vase too, you have captured it so beautifully and I can see why you ran to the register with it when you spotted it while out shopping.

Congrats for your first place ribbon on that gorgeous painting, it is so well deserved. Many hugs.

Ruth
