Silent Serendipity is a new painting of white poppies and white hydrangeas, and seems a fitting work to close out a long year in Flower Mound Studio. I could see this as a terrible year, the year my mother became so ill, the year that my little pug Howard had to go to the emergency room. Instead I will see it as the year my mother miraculously got better after the doctor told us there was no hope. I will see it as the year we realized Howard was sick enough to get to the hospital immediately, and so his life was saved.

Sometimes life is so busy and noisy, I forget there is another way of seeing. I think my New Year's resolution will be to remember to Be Still.

I have so much to be thankful for.
