Lemons and Hydrangeas

Lemons and Hydrangeas is a new work this evening, and one I really enjoyed creating, because I haven't painted lemons in quite a while. I remember taking a class with the master artist Jean Chambers and watching her spend an hour on a gorgeous red apple painting; she would have winced if she had seen how quickly I slapped the yellow paint on my own fruit accoutrements.

I'm building up my inventory in preparation for my biggest art show, the spring gala at the Dallas Arboretum. If you are in the mood for a magnificent tulip display, March is the best time to visit these lovely gardens. And if you're strategic about it, you can schedule your visit for Artscape and stop by and say hello! I would absolutely love to see you there.
