I've been studying roses this week, and they seem to be the most fragile flowers, fading much more quickly than the daisies I purchased the same day. I took the photo below of the roses in the sunshine on the same afternoon I brought my treasured blossoms home from the grocery store. Day 3, this evening, is in the center photo, and you can see the roses beginning to droop a bit. I seem to have an easier time painting older flowers. The droop gives them character, I think!
