The Orange Door

The Orange Door is one of those images that has been patiently waiting to be painted for over 2 years. Each time I visit Coronado, California, to deliver art to Art and Frames by Wood Gallery, I bring home a treasure trove of photos. The flower gardens and cottages there are a dream come true for petal paparrazi like me - yes, I am one of those crazy tourists who shamelessly stands in front of homes with pretty flowers snapping photos. My husband usually hides in the rental car a block or so away with his head buried behind a map, pretending he doesn't know me.

The poor people who live here were
wondering who on earth that strange
lady was taking photos of their door!
