A Dream and a Wish is dedicated to breast cancer awareness. I wanted to create something soft and feminine, so I worked today from a white canvas, instead of my usual primed surface, and used transparent warm colors as my underpainting. This was one of those unusual paintings that seemed to hop onto the canvas quickly, as if it had been waiting for years to make its debut.

There has been more than one exceptional woman in my life, a dear friend, a relative, and my most cherished mentor, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The prayers and good thoughts are strong medicine, but it is my greatest dream and wish that someday there will be a cure.
