Sunflowers in a Purple Pot is a study completed for a small commission, and was fun to do in a fast, free style way. A much larger commission is taking shape on the easel this evening, with a 30X24 container garden sprouting daisies, geraniums and - of course - more sunflowers! Here is a peek at that larger painting in progress as it moves toward completion. Not pictured beneath that large painting is a little fat pug who is snoring away happily on her pillow. I can't recall the last time I completed a painting that was not accompanied by the comforting sound of my four-footed, snoring studio supervisors. It sure makes life more fun to have these little ones around to keep me from taking things too seriously.
