Summertime Geraniums is a new floral still life drying in Flower Mound Studio this week. I had one of those bursts of painting energy yesterday, finishing three small ones and one large container garden. I haven't quite decided if the container garden is ready for public consumption, but rest assured you'll be the first to see this new work. I'm thinking the title for this one should be Heat Wave, since it's been over 100 every day this week in Dallas! Stay tuned for a peek, it won't be much longer, I promise.

I talked a few days ago about finding some amazing small surprises in mother nature. The same day I witnessed a poppy "popping" out of an egg (okay, I had Sangria the evening before, but I do have photos to prove this)...well the same day I witness the egg poppy popping incident, I stumbled upon another wonderful gift of nature - what do you think? Is this a hummingbird's nest?

Lucky you Nancy, I haven't been fortunate enough to stumble across a Hummingbirs's nest yet, that is wonderful.

I love Geraniums, they are a favorite in my garden and I noticed them blooming happily in the crazy Bermuda heat when I was there a couple of weeks ago. I love how hardy and tolerant they are...truly a favorite annual.

Amazing brush strokes in this gorgeous painting of geraniums. Those strokes lend so much movement and interest to these beauties! I'm not sure what kind of nest this is but what an awesome find!

My husband would just love this one. He fancies geraniums and loves orange tones!
