Penny Lane, Delphiniums, is the fruit of a busy weekend of painting. This new painting, along with Mountain Blossoms and Sans Souci, was created with a limited palette - three colors, plus white. Painting with a limited palette is a good way to help bring color harmony to your finished painting, and I think this works particularly well with landscapes.

I've been putting inventory together for the annual Artists of Texas show at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas. I hope you will join us for the opening reception on November 6. More details will be coming! The poppy painting below will be on display, as well as a number of my larger paintings. It would be great to see you there.

I cannot stay away from this blog it is just marvellous. How I wish I could just paint one painting somewhere near the level you acheive.

This is simply gorgeous, Nancy. I think this could be in the English countryside, or even France, or Italy, or Greece! How awesome!
