The severe weather alert in Dallas today was not for thunderstorms or tornadoes, it was for the heat wave. It's a tough time of year for irises in Texas, so I had to revert to the grocery store for these blossoms. I've been working on a large container garden for a while now, letting it develop a bit more slowly than I usually do. Here is a peek at the painting in progress below. If you are wondering whether every surface in my studio has some painting drying upon it, you would be correct!

Wherever you may be, if it is as hot as Dallas, keep your little ones indoors where they belong, and for heaven's sake, mix us up a batch of fresh brewed iced tea! I'll be right over...

What a nice pairing with these two blossoms, Nancy! Love the photo of you on the ladder painting en plein aire in your yard! LOL What you won't do for a fabulous piece of art!
