Thistle Dreams and Painting at the Dallas Arboretum

The thistles at the Dallas Arboretum are a bit bigger
than the ones that you typically see growing wild
along the Texas highways...

Painting plein aire at the Dallas Arboretum
is easy when you have someone to do all
the heavy lifting for you, between breaks!

Sunscreen - check! Goofy hat - check!

Candid camera - check!
PS the piano music was coming
from terrace nearby.

Gosh! You two are just so cute!! I think this thistle painting has moved into my favorite NM painting position. This is stunning, Nancy, truly.

Aunt Nancy,

That video was just a delight. The music, the kids playing in the background, beautiful art, a soft breeze, that scenery, good company... what a moment!

All that was missing was my Howie.

Loved the video, complete with it's own theme music!

Oh, the things our husbands must endure for a little plein air painting! Last year, about this time, I posted a picture of Jay sound asleep in a hammock while I painted at a friend's lakehouse in E. Tx. Hmmm, perhaps we should introduce the two of them!
