I revitalized an old painting this week, and added some darker purple background to the Silver Pitcher of Sunflowers, with a bit of blue hydrangea. This was one of the works I brought back from our trip to The Good Art Company Gallery last weekend in Fredericksburg, Texas. On the way home, we took a detour on the Willow City Loop just outside of town and I took a few hundred pictures of the wildflowers there.

The blooms were worth the 5 hour drive from Dallas, all by themselves, though I had a difficult time explaining that to my passenger and studio assistant, AnnieBee.

The cactus was everywhere, but I didn't
see any of the beautiful cactus flowers
on this trip.

I was amazed to see bluebonnets still going
strong on Willow City Loop!

Some pictures are worth taking at eye level...

Carlos took this picture for me, since I had a snorty
little studio assistant in my lap...

AnnieBee could not figure out what on earth
all the fuss was about! Weeds, grass, what Mom?
Oh wait, there's one of those things
they make hamburgers out of!
