Lilac Lace and Painted Buntings

Lilac Lace is a new painting I finished last night for a lovely lady in Boise, Idaho. This painting is full of what I like best, color.

There is no bird more colorful in my mother's East Texas garden this week than the Painted Buntings. They arrived yesterday much to the delight of my bird watching Aunt, who lives out on the farm with Mom and who captured this photo from her upstairs deck. If you look closely, you'll notice this little guy has tan lines from sitting on Mexico beaches and drinking delicious fruity things out of coconuts.

The Painted Buntings have arrived at Briar Patch Farm

I so love lilacs and the painting is gorgeous, Nancy. That bird is stunning! I'd never seen one before so am just awed by its colors and markings. Please tell me your mom and your aunt liked the portrait of their dad?

You have painted purples and greens together before,Nancy, but you will charm me every time. Was this little gem sold while still wet?

Miss Sherry, my family LOVED the portrait you did of Poppy, you are so kind. It is now a cherished heirloom!

Melissy, welcome home from your whirlwind tour!

Thank you Ed, I am still admiring the portrait of Beau. Such a beauty.

Marie, you have such insight. It was indeed sold while wet. Don't you enjoy trying to photograph wet paintings? It's always a nice challenge. : )
