A beautiful day at the Dallas Arboretum

Almost 100 artists converged on the Dallas Arboretum today to set up their tents for Artscape this weekend. What a perfect day, the sun was peeking out of the clouds, there was a cool breeze, and the park was filled with families taking photos in the tulips. There is no better time of year to come to the Arboretum than these next few weeks, the hibiscus was in full bloom nearby and the smell was like a heavenly bouquet. nodp

My tent No. 11 is right next to one of the 300 year old oak trees near the main entrance this year, so I have a great location and I'm really excited about this weekend. Even though they are predicting rain and snow tomorrow!!! I hope you will stop by and say hello if you are in the area. I would love to meet you. PS - they say Sunday the weather will be nice again...

Hi, Nancy...your poppies are addictively eyecatching. The arboretum looks so inviting, indeed...and what a super environment in which to paint. Just rain and cold here tonight..but it IS still winter. And our farmer'a market doesn't kick off till May. Keep strokin'
your incomparable blooms.

I am surprised not to see a bee on that painting, mistaking it for a beautiful, juicy real flower. It is that gorgeous, Nancy. The arboretum looks so glorious! No buds or sprouts here yet, but I suspect soon. Hoping you don't get snow...nor do we.

Rain and snow for the first day of Spring? Yikes! Everything looks so beautiful there too. How I wish I could walk among the Daffodils and smell their sweet fragrance. Soon.

You know I love your poppies : )
