Pansy Pleasers and a Chilly Day at Artscape

Pansy Pleasers by Nancy Medina

My tent is in the upper right corner, can you tell which one? Even in the cold, the
Arboretum is filled with color and flowers this month.

Today was a VERY chilly day at Artscape at the Dallas Arboretum. Some of the artists stayed home, but about a dozen of us braved the rain, wind, and snow and shivered our way through the show. I am very glad I did, because some of my awesome clients came to see me even though it was barely above freezing. After telling them they were crazy, I thanked each of them profusely, and wrapped up some new art to send home with them.

I'm so fortunate to have had a successful art show in possibly the worst weather conditions imagineable. Well, we didn't have a tornado or hurricane, but this IS Texas so anything is possible. I do want to say a HUGE thank you to Cindy, Gila, Alan, Nancy, Janine, Nancy (there were two Nancy's who came to see me today!), Judy (who got turned away at the gate because we closed early) and everyone who bundled up and came on out.

We have one more show day tomorrow, and we've been assured a balmy 40 degrees with no rain. Snow I don't mind, puddles, I do. I hope to see you there! As you can tell from the photo, the arboretum is beautiful and full of flowers, even in the frigid temps. The tulips don't mind the cold and thanks to the little pocket warmers, I think I'll survive a bit more too.

While I stayed home snuggled in front of a roaring fire for most of the day, I thought about you and sent you my warmest wishes. So glad you had visitors and sales, sorry I could not brave the weather. I wish you lots of visitors and buyers tomorrow. By the way, congrats on the honorable mention; way to go!

What a great job despite the weather! I give you huge kudos for being out in that all day. I don't think I could have done least not without a blankie to wrap up in. The pansies are delightful but I think the pot is even more beautiful!

Thank you for the warm wishes ladies, they worked, I managed to stay warm even though it was in the 30s all day Saturday! You would think this would have been discouraging, but it ended up being such a great show thanks to some loyal clients who braved the elements. Sending you all hugs from across the miles!
