Pansy Pleasers and a Chilly Day at Artscape

Pansy Pleasers by Nancy Medina

My tent is in the upper right corner, can you tell which one? Even in the cold, the
Arboretum is filled with color and flowers this month.

Today was a VERY chilly day at Artscape at the Dallas Arboretum. Some of the artists stayed home, but about a dozen of us braved the rain, wind, and snow and shivered our way through the show. I am very glad I did, because some of my awesome clients came to see me even though it was barely above freezing. After telling them they were crazy, I thanked each of them profusely, and wrapped up some new art to send home with them.

I'm so fortunate to have had a successful art show in possibly the worst weather conditions imagineable. Well, we didn't have a tornado or hurricane, but this IS Texas so anything is possible. I do want to say a HUGE thank you to Cindy, Gila, Alan, Nancy, Janine, Nancy (there were two Nancy's who came to see me today!), Judy (who got turned away at the gate because we closed early) and everyone who bundled up and came on out.

We have one more show day tomorrow, and we've been assured a balmy 40 degrees with no rain. Snow I don't mind, puddles, I do. I hope to see you there! As you can tell from the photo, the arboretum is beautiful and full of flowers, even in the frigid temps. The tulips don't mind the cold and thanks to the little pocket warmers, I think I'll survive a bit more too.
