Purple Drapes and Sunflowers is a tribute to one of my favorite combos - yellow and purple. I think all of us are drawn to a different set of color combinations, it must be something in the DNA - I was told once I have a strong vision of the violet spectrum. If you guys could see my wardrobe you might be surprised to see I wear mostly brown, gray and black to work. If I dressed in the colors I paint, folks at work might worry about my sanity.

I'm looking out at 15 inches of snow this morning and I came here and got to see the most beautiful sunflowers that remind me of warmer weather.
The yellow and purple work so well together. I'm so drawn to dioxazine purple lately..... lol! I can't get it ut of my palette!

Beautiful as usual, Miss Nancy! I love the shade of purple you used here.

Purple and yellow - it doesn't get better than that!! You are the master of 'yellow in shadow', which is the hardest thing for me! Beautiful - and I hope it doesn't grace your studio for long!

Thank you Sherry - I wish I had some drapes like that. Those sprung out of my imagination...

Manon are you going through your purple phase? All of your paintings have such a nice strong violet range!
