New England Lilacs

New England Lilacs by Nancy Medina

Oil on Linen Board

The paint is flying fast and furious in Flower Mound Studio. A new four foot wide container garden painting is complete and another will be started this evening. Each will be the centerpiece for my two art shows coming up. In the meantime, these little sproutling flower paintings have been blooming on canvases laying about the studio. A study for a new geranium pot here, an experiment in color wash for a daisy there. When the spring show season is over, the walls will be bare, like a garden waiting for new seeds. Then a new growing season will begin again in the Flower Mound Studio garden. Thank goodness for my 3 four-footed studio assistants. Without them and without caffeine, none of this would be possible.

Beautiful Nancy...do you use a product to help the oil paint dry faster??? I remember using something but can't remember the name of it...I think it was a Windsor and Newton product...

You do have the best assistants. I already told you that I want to apply for that job because you treat them so well...lol! The lilacs are stunning.

Thanks Becky I use Archival lean fast-drying medium - Archival is the brand name if you google it you can find it online. There might be other brands that are equally good but I'm hooked on Archival for now. : )

Manon, Howie said he can make room on the team for you. He adores cute ladies.

Thank you Benny and Lily, you are both so darn cute.

Melissy and Emmittpants, I have been seeing your famous dog sweaters all over the place lately - pretty soon you will be getting a call from Dr. Fosters!

Dominique, that is a lovely picture! : )

Sherry, thank you lady! hugs!
