I confess I have painted purple irises more than once. I have the Argyle Acres Iris Farm to blame for letting me in one afternoon and giving me hours and hours of time to photograph their blossoms. The purples, all 100 varieties, kept calling my name, the black beauties, the grape soda iris, the bouffant iris, the dinner plate iris. I am still finding new purple irises in my old photos I missed the first few thousand times I gazed upon them. What a magnificent day that was at the iris farm. Here's a link to the old blog post, in case (heaven forbid) you missed the tour!

Another gorgeous piece. It's really beautiful and I love the color. I think purple is becoming one of my favorites.

Thanks for the wonderful comment regarding my photos. I really appreciate it.

The not being able to leave a comment was my fault. It's fixed now. Thanks again and have a wonderful 2010. Looking forward to more amazing art.

Hi Nancy
We can look at your beautiful paintings forever.
They always make us feel so good, and remind us of happy days.
We can feel what you see -when your magic paint brush touches that canvas.
