A Peek Inside Flower Mound Studio

Here is a peek inside Flower Mound Studio this week. A real closeup
would reveal paint spatters on the walls and multiple tiny nailholes...

I didn't crop out the door on this one so you can get an idea
of the scale of some of the works. The only thing I don't
like about painting on a large scale is gesso-ing that big
ole canvas!! Holy cow that takes a lot of work.

But wait, what's missing in these pictures???

Portal

Portal
10X10
Oil on Canvas

Portal is a small work I haven't been able to part with. Sometimes a painting feels like it comes together all on its own, and from a distance in my studio I almost feel I can step through the doorway in Portal and visit another world.

We are traveling from Fredericksburg, Texas, back to Flower Mound today along with Anniebelly and will soon be reunited with the thundering herd of puglets at the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs. I promise to share all the pictures and tidbits about our adventure as soon as we get our landlegs back.

I hope each of you have family and friends to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with this year. Happy Fourth to you my dear friends!
