Hill Country Lane

Hill Country Lane is a rendition of the quiet old roads that cross the miles of hills around Fredericksburg, Texas. There are many historic German stone houses back in these settlements and I often wonder if any of my father's ancestors are among the original settlers. The white Texas stone can be seen in the old buildings and banks downtown as well as in these old farmhouses. I love Fredericksburg at Christmas, and we always bring the pugs when we visit there to deliver art to The Good Art Company Gallery on Main Street. Here is a picture from a few holidays ago, of Howard and his big sis, Winnie Wiggles.

Wouldn't I like to live at the end of that lane! What a sweet picture of Winnie and Howard. I know how much you loved and now miss her. I get all teary when I think of the dogs and cats I have lost over the years. They were all different but hold such a special place in my heart.

Oh Nancy! As much as I love your flowers, I love your paintings with structures in them even more! This is so gorgeous, truly. I wish I could walk this lane, see the inside of this house...and dare I say it? I wish I could live here! Howard and Winnie are just so precious. Methinks Winnie and I both need to diet together! Maybe we could help each other out somehow (says I as I feed my three and my daughter's dog a bit of cookie dough treats)...
