Shine and an Art Show Shindig

Oil on Canvas
Nancy Medina Art

I had a wonderful turnout for Meet the Artist night at Stems Gallery yesterday evening. What a delight to meet Margie Whittington, one of the famous Canvas by Canvas painters and a member of the Texas Daily Painters! Check out the amazing painting Margie and her Canvas by Canvas group has at the posh Gaylord Texan this month.

There was wine, cheese, art and friends who braved the heat to support me! These are some of my pals who arrived early, before me, and so were forced to go across the street and have wine and delicious Italian food while they waited for the show to open. They described their scrumptious meals to me in great detail while I nibbled crackers and found a few crumbs from brownies to munch upon.

Can you spot the Texas Daily Painter in this picture? Hint: She's the ROWDY one....

Scroll down for the answer.

Sound of Jeopardy music.

You got it! It's Judy Mackey!! My painty lady pal, the one who makes me pass out my business cards to hapless waiters and enclose them in my water bill to the bafflement of the Town of Flower Mound Public Works clerks. Really, what would I do without a friend like Judy to make me do due diligence with marketing? Even if she did have all that excellent food and wine before she came to my show...., she is the bestest painty pal an artist could ever have.

Thank you to everyone who came by to see the show. I haven't laughed so much in years! Thanks also to Pat and Bill and Sandy, the owners of Stems Gallery, for being such great hosts.

Hi Jean, lordy lady, I sure hope you guys get some rain. It has been unbearable up here, and I was amazed anyone was outdoors yesterday evening (tho very grateful!).

I missed this blog and want to thank you for your nice comments on me and my pals in Canvas by Canvas. Phil and I enjoyed meeting you and seeing your beautiful art work. Stems is a delightful shop and your florals add a lot to the shop. Again, sorry to be a little late on this comment. Love your blog.
