Tickle Me Pink Iris

SOLD

I had fun with this little iris, breaking all the rules about keeping your color in check. Why on earth do they put those bright colors in tubes if they don't want us to use them, I ask? The really tiny fine print at the bottom is the disclaimer that says "very little gray or realistic color used here, proceed with caution when viewing..."

What have you been up to? Any new painting breakthroughs? I am so proud because I bought a shoe bag to hang on the back of my door in my studio, and it is the perfect place for organizing all my tubes and tubes of paint. I even have the colors distributed in the order of the color wheel! I haven't felt this organized in years.

Happy painting!

And thank you for the great organizing tip!
Shoe bags are great for everything aren't they??
I'm with Laura - I'm thinking a new pair of shoes would be nice too...

Hi Nancy! This is Kelly, not Pearl. :)

Just wanted to tell ya that I have been hanging out on your art-blog this afternoon, having so much fun! I love seeing what you've been up to and hearing about what inspires your work! You are so wonderfully talented.

That's all. :) Give the puggies a big ole' smooch for me, and you guys have a great weekend!

Nancy, your irises are crazy good! I love the contrast of brushwork on the iris vs. the background,...love it!

I am totally with you, Nancy, if those paint tubes are in my bins, why can't I use them?

Yes! It's truly beautiful! Flowers are one of those places that we can let that color fly. Great job!

Hugs to the pugs!

Hi Nancy
We love those colors! What a happy looking flower with all those brilliant colors!
And it matches my new birthday outfit that mama made for me. I will wear it soon - so you can see.
But this is sooooo beautiful!

Maybe you'll give the breeders some incentive to try and make a pink Iris! It's beautiful!
