Chantilly Lace Iris Painting

Chantilly Lace - White Iris
6X8, Oil on Linen

Chantilly Lace - White Iris is my newest work, completed yesterday evening with the help of my four-footed, snorfley studio assistants. Now that all the spring shows are behind me, I finally have time to focus on my Etsy Shop! I've posted Chantilly Lace there, and will soon create a new line of florals to wake up my Etsy Store a bit.

Painting white flowers has been a wonderful way for me to get some exercise in my grays. I took the advice of Kevin MacPherson years ago and stocked up on the Gamblin gray family, and it has stood me in good stead. Granted, Kevin didn't actually speak to me, I was just one of the adoring minions who purchased his video.

I'm off to deliver flower paintings to the Stems Gallery in Grapevine, Texas, this morning. A few of my small works sold there last week. Then we're headed to Plano, Texas, to deliver a red geranium commission to a wonderful client who has spread the word to galleries about me. There is nothing better than connections to get into galleries!

I hope you are having a relaxing Saturday morning. I am listening to a new CD Along the Shore of Acadia by Tim Janis, with the soothing background noise of three pugs snoring. What could be a better way to start the day?
