A Nice Place to Dream - Carriage House on the Creek B&B

This is my new favorite place to stay in
Fredericksburg, TX! Local landscape artist
Emily Leland and her husband Mitch
opened the Carriage House on the Creek
Bed and Breakfast
just a few months ago.

I love the cheerful kitchen! Look at all that light.

Emily's excellent decorating skill shows in so many ways.

The counters reflect even more light into the sunny kitchen.

The breakfast nook looks out over trees and open pastures.
I woke up to the sound of cattle lowing.

Here is the creek just outside the window.
Deer come here to get a cool drink of water.

A comfy couch and all kinds of great art books to read!
What a great place for a nap.

Here is my absolute favorite:
This beautiful 1800s era antique brass bed.
I love the designer bedding and the bright colors. The sheets
are embroidered.

Here is a sneak peek at one of Emily's amazing landscape paintings.
The bed and breakfast features several of her original artworks. You can
see more of Emily's paintings at The Good Art Company Gallery downtown.

This elegant chair is one of the unique things about the B&B.

Look at the colorful throw rug and this loveseat!

There are two window seats in quiet nooks. What a great
place to disappear with an art magazine!

Just outside is a nice open terrace with room for easels and workshops.
My painty lady friends are going to love this place.
Shop all day, eat at Rather Sweet, and head back
to the Carriage House to paint all the things that inspired you.

Hi Nancy, your lavender field painting is so beautiful. We love lavender and can almost smell the fragrance in your painting. And what a wonderful retreat! You do such beautiful art. Your paintings come to life with your paint brush.

Hi Christine - thanks! I loved that movie, and that was my favorite scene too. I always wondered whose art they used!

I would love to lie in that field of lavender and look up at the big blu sky. I can see why you like the B&B. So very cozy!

I love your lavender fields, Nancy! Wonderful soft colors, very well done!

I've never stayed at the Carriage House, but it sure looks perfect. All of the B&B's in Fredericksburg are so charming. I'm hoping to get there in April of this year.

We are so dry that the chance for bluebonnets is slim. I'm hoping that the counties east of us will have had more rain and some wildflowers.

Hugs to the pugs!
