Beyond Blue - Rain Rain, Go Away!

Beyond Blue - Hydrangeas
Oil on Linen

There is nothing like a deadline to get the blood pumping - it's the one week countdown to Artscape at the Dallas Arboretum. I have to get my rear in gear and print up art tags and price sheets and get all the frames finished. Instead, I procrastinated and painted Beyond Blue. Beyond Blue is my offering to the rain gods to ask them to move this cold, wet weather away from Dallas and visit it upon some dry parched land elsewhere. All of us starving artists are counting on sunshine March 21-22 on the Arboretum grounds. I hope to see you there!

Wow...I've always loved hydrangeas because of their electric blue color. You've captured that perfectly!

Thanks for your offer on the Art for Animals project Nancy! You're such a sweetheart. The only thing I can think of now is having people know that if they can't paint, they can help get supplies for struggling artists by donating a little. A $1.60 buys a canvas board. We've set up a donation button on our blog. A painting donated to the shelter by the artist can raise up to $45.00 which buys a bed for a kennel so the dogs don't have to sleep on cold concrete.

The best to you for "Artscape" Nancy! I know you will do great!

This is another wonderful painting! This is Procrastination put to very good use.

We got 3 inches of rain this week, awesome!

Hugs to the Pugs!

Hey Nancy - I'm with you on the rain here, enough is enough! It looks like we're not going to get to paint tomorrow because of the weather :(, so Turtle Creek will have to wait until next Saturday. I will see you at the Arboretum, either Saturday afternoon or Sunday...can't wait to see your beautiful paintings in person.

If you need help, let me know because this is my Spring Break week and my daughter is going back to school on Sunday, so I'm available.

No kidding, you definitely don't want all that rain for the Arboretum! Maybe you should do a little sun dance to get things moving in the right direction ; )
